What this covers
These terms set out the rules between you and RadKod when you use the biselam app and the biselam.me website. You accept these terms and the Privacy policy when you create an account. If you don’t accept them, don’t use biselam.
Who can use biselam
biselam is only for people aged 18 or over. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up, and we don’t open an account for anyone under 18.
If we suspect an account belongs to someone under 18, we restrict it while we review it and close it if needed. Someone whose account was closed for breaking the rules can’t open a new one.
Your account
The information on your account must be accurate. You can only change your username and date of birth at certain intervals.
Keeping your password and phone safe is your responsibility. If you see something on your account you didn’t do, change your password and let us know.
You can’t give or sell your account to someone else, and you can’t open an account in someone else’s name or impersonate anyone.
Content and behaviour rules
You’re responsible for the photos, videos, voice recordings, stories and messages you share. The following are not allowed, and we have zero tolerance for any of them:
- Nudity, sexual content and sexual propositions
- Any content involving or targeting people under 18
- Harassment, threats, bullying and persistently bothering someone
- Hate speech based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability
- Content that glorifies or incites violence or encourages self-harm
- Sharing someone else’s personal information, photos or messages without their permission
- Scams, spam, and asking for money or account details
- Selling or promoting illegal goods or services
- Trying to save view-once media or take a screenshot of it
- Recording a call without the other person’s permission
- Using a modified version of the app, bots or automated tools, or trying to get around security measures
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and for users who abuse others.
Profile photos and stories are scanned automatically before they go live; content found to break the rules isn’t published or is removed. Offensive words in public text, such as bios, story polls, question box questions and answers, are replaced with asterisks, and usernames containing them can’t be taken. We don’t read or scan your private messages unless they’re reported (chats with character accounts are the exception, see below); a filter on the recipient’s phone can hide offensive words. Media sent in chats isn’t scanned; there, reporting and blocking protect you.
Reporting, blocking and your reach
You can report or block from any chat or profile. When you report a chat, its recent messages come to us as evidence and our team reviews them. Someone you block can’t message or call you or see your stories.
We review reports within 24 hours at the latest; we remove content that breaks the rules and close the account of the user who posted it. A message you report disappears from your chat straight away.
Accounts that get reported, get blocked often, or don’t get replies to the chats they start have fewer new chats and hellos per day and show up less in Discover. This recovers on its own with good behaviour. You can see your status under “Why is my reach limited?” in Settings. Spending coins on a boost doesn’t lift these limits.
For serious or repeated violations, we remove content, suspend the account or close it permanently. If you want to appeal a moderation decision, write to us.
Masked messages
When you write masked, the other person only sees your alias. The account behind the mask is always known to us. These terms apply to masked messages in full; reports and blocks apply to the account behind the mask.
Masks only come off if both of you want. When you block someone who is writing to you masked, you block them without finding out who they are. If you don’t want masked messages, you can turn them off in Settings.
Using a mask to bother someone, or trying to find out who is behind a mask by other means, breaks the rules.
Question box
The question box is off by default; you turn it on and off in the Privacy section of Settings. While it’s on, anyone, including people without the app, can ask you anonymous questions on your biselam.me/<username> page. The asker’s name isn’t shared with you.
The content and behaviour rules in these terms apply to everyone, including people who ask without an account. You can delete or report a question you receive; our team reviews reported questions.
Questions you answer appear publicly on your biselam.me/<username> page, with the question and your answer; questions you don’t answer don’t appear anywhere. You can edit your answer, withdraw it or delete the question entirely. Anyone, including people without an account, can report a public answer. If you turn your question box off, your answers stop showing on your page too. You’re also responsible for the content of a question you choose to answer.
To prevent abuse, at most 10 questions an hour can be sent from the same place, and at most 3 an hour to the same person. Character accounts don’t have a question box.
Voice and video calls
In a masked chat, the person writing masked can’t call; the side whose identity is visible can. Once the masks come off, both of you can call.
You choose who can call you under “Who can call me” in Settings: Everyone, People I talk to, or Nobody. The default is “People I talk to”: people whose chat you started or replied to, people you’ve unmasked with, and people you follow each other with. Character accounts don’t receive calls.
You can call the same person at most 3 times an hour. Your daily calls are also limited, and they drop or stop for accounts that get reported.
During a call, you can report or block the other person from the shield at the top right. A call with someone you block ends immediately.
Calls aren’t recorded.
Coins and Plus
Coins and Plus are bought as in-app purchases from the store you downloaded the app from (today, the App Store). Payment and refunds follow that store’s rules.
With coins you can boost your profile, boost a story, send super messages and get frames. The app shows how many coins something costs before you buy it. Prices can change over time; the price shown when you buy is the one that applies.
- Coins don’t expire.
- Coins can’t be cashed out, transferred to others or sold.
- Coins you spend aren’t refunded. A super message uses coins even if you get no reply. When a boosted story leaves after 24 hours, any unused views are lost.
- You can’t pass on a frame you received as a gift or turn it back into coins.
- If you delete your account, or your account is closed for breaking the rules, your remaining coins aren’t refunded.
Plus is an auto-renewing subscription. Its length, price and what it unlocks are shown on the purchase screen. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, it renews and your store account is charged. You manage and cancel it in your App Store account settings. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel it.
Character accounts
biselam has character accounts (AI characters) run by our team. The photos on these accounts don’t belong to real people.
Right now, people on our team write these accounts’ messages. So when you chat with a character account, our team sees the messages and media you send, including view-once media.
Before you send a super message to a character account, the app tells you it’s a character account. Frames can’t be gifted to character accounts.
Rights to what you share
You own what you share. So that we can run biselam, you give us the right to store and process your content, show it to the people you choose, and review it for moderation. We only use this right to provide the service.
This right ends when you delete the content or your account. Copies kept as evidence for reports and backups are the exception; the Privacy policy explains how long they’re kept.
Only upload content you have the right to share. Don’t share someone else’s photos or work without permission.
Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time with “Delete account” in Settings. Deletion happens immediately and can’t be undone. The Delete account page explains what’s deleted.
Instead of deleting, you can freeze your account. Your profile is hidden and nobody can message you. Your account opens again when you log back in.
If you break these terms, we may restrict, suspend or close your account without notice. In that case your remaining coins aren’t refunded.
Limits of liability
We provide biselam as it is. We can’t guarantee it will run without interruption or errors; it may sometimes be unavailable because of maintenance, updates or faults. We may change features or remove some of them.
Profile photos and stories are scanned before they go live, and public text is filtered for offensive words. We don’t read private messages unless they’re reported; a filter on the recipient’s device can hide offensive words. We review reports within 24 hours. We aren’t responsible for harm arising from content or people you come across, beyond reviewing what you report. Be careful before giving people you don’t know your personal details, address or money.
These terms don’t limit our liability for intent or gross negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We announce important changes in the app. The date at the top of the page shows the last update.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye.
If something goes wrong, write to us first and we’ll try to sort it out together. If it can’t be resolved, as a consumer you can apply to the consumer arbitration committee where you live, within the monetary limits announced each year, or to the consumer court for disputes above those limits.
Contact
You can send questions, suggestions and appeals from the “Send feedback” screen in Settings; it goes straight to our team. To report someone, use the menu on their profile or in the chat. You can also report inappropriate content or behaviour by email to [email protected].
For requests about your personal data, use the application route in the KVKK notice.
